Traffic to be impacted on streets near former YVEA building

Construction crews will be doing some traffic control on Yampa, Ninth and 10th streets near the old Yampa Valley Electric Association building as new sidewalks and utilities are installed.

For the next few weeks, drivers could encounter some lane shifts as work is done.

Kevin Kopasz, a project manager for Fox Construction, said the impact to traffic will be minimal.

The work that is taking place is for the private redevelopment of the existing YVEA building. It is not associated with the city of Steamboat Springs’ Yampa Street improvement project, which is anticipated to start sometime in May.

Look for a story on the traffic impacts of that project in an upcoming issue of the Steamboat Today.
