Police, fire and ambulance calls

12:35 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers contacted two men who were arguing in the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue. Police mediated the situation.

2:13 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers were called to a report of two women fighting at a Mexican restaurant in the 1700 block of Central Park Drive. One woman was jealous the other woman was dancing with other people. The two women were separated and given rides home.

8:32 a.m. North Routt Fire Protection District firefighters were called to a report of two hunters who fell out of an overturned canoe in Steamboat Lake. One of the hunters made it back to shore and called for help, but the other was stranded in the lake and getting blown away from shore. Firefighters partnered with Colorado Parks and Wildlife to take a boat to retrieve the man in the lake. The man was rescued.

4:33 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a Steamboat Springs Transit bus driver who needed help removing an intoxicated and disruptive passenger from a bus near the Western Convenience gas station on Lincoln Avenue. Police encountered a 42-year old woman who was crying and very upset. Officers then started gauging whether the woman was intoxicated. When the woman was asked by officers if she knew who the president of the United States was, she replied "Yes, f— Obama and Hillary," according to an arrest affidavit. When officers tried to put the woman into a patrol car, she became agitated and tried to punch one of the officers, according to the affidavit. The woman also reportedly spit on officers. She was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and harassment.
