Steamboat Springs — Tuesday, Feb. 2:
10:09 a.m. Police were called to a report of vandalism in the 1300 block of Lincoln Avenue. An employee of a business reported that he or she noticed a rock had been thrown through one of the windows, police said. There was a small hole in the window, and no sign of attempted entry into the business, police said.
10:16 a.m. Police were called to a reported theft in the 3400 block of Sunburst Court. A maintenance worker at a lodging property reported a couple of Steamboat art prints missing from a common area, police said.
10:43 a.m. Police were called to a request for a welfare check in the 1800 block of Central Park Drive. A woman was concerned about her adult son, who she said was not dressed for the weather, police said. The person was gone when officers arrived.
11:17 a.m. Police were called to a reported suspicious incident in the 1800 block of Central Park Drive. A man in a red shirt reportedly had a bloody mouth and was yelling and striking cars with his fists as they drove by, police said. Officers were unable to locate the man.
2:08 p.m. Police were called to a report of fraud in the 2600 block of Jacob Circle. Police have taken reports about similar incidents in recent months; the recurring scam involves someone calling a business and requesting services, police said. The caller offers a check for those services and asks the business to deposit that check and wire the difference in the bill to an account, police said. Often the check turns out to be fraudulent, police said.
