Accountant
Among Steamboat
CPAs, readers picked Dana Tredway of Tredway Henion and Kerr as their favorite accountant. Tied for second was a number of accountants Kari Nelson, Larry Handing, Sharon Yeager, and Greg Henion.

Bank Teller
Brooke Sanchez of First National Bank of Steamboat Springs was voted the city’s best bank teller. Michelle Malone, Veldue Combs, and Shawnee Smith tied for second place, while third place was not awarded.



Boss
John Kerst of First National Bank of Steamboat Springs received the most votes for best boss. Teri Shewchuck of Mocha Molly’s was second and Mike Lomas of Steamboat Lodging Inc. was third.

Car Salesman
Stacey Rogers of Cook Chevrolet was voted the city’s best car salesman. Steve Dunklin of Cook Chevrolet won second place. John Centner of Steamboat Motors was third.



Chef
Michael Fragola of Cottonwood Grill was voted the city’s best chef. Richie Billingham of L’Apogee was second.

Coach
Sailors basketball coach Kelly Meek and football coach Mark Drake tied for the honor of the city’s best coach.

Artist
Painter and teacher Rich Galusha was voted the best artist in the city. Curtis Zabel was the runner up, and Dianne Cionni third.

Contractor/Builder
Tom Fox of Fox Construction Inc. was voted the city’s best builder. Snow Country Construction Inc. and Gary Cogswell of Cogswell Construction Inc. tied for second.

Cowboy
Bareback riding champion J.C. Trujillo was voted the best cowboy. The late Pat Mantle was second.

Dentist
Readers voted Dr. Curtis Comeau their favorite dentist in town. Terry Riley was second place, and Ted Schrock was third.

Divorce Attorney
When it comes to divorce attorneys in the ‘boat, Sally Claassen gets the most votes from readers. Cheryl Hardy-Moore was second.

DUI Attorney
When it comes handling DUI cases, Drew Johnroe was tops among locals. Kris Hammond was second and Randy Klauzer was third.

Electrician
Alex Berger was voted the best electrician, just ahead of Bob Schappel.

Family Doctor
Readers voted for Jim Dudley as their favorite family doctor. The best family in Steamboat is Jim Dudley. Just behind Dudley was Mark McCaulley, with David Williams third.

Elected Officials
City Councilwoman Kathy Connell and County Commissioner Nancy Stahoviak two women used to getting votes received the most votes for best elected official in the city. The pair wound up in a tie, just ahead of former City Councilman Jim Engelken.

Law Enforcement Officer
Pua Utu was voted the city’s best law enforcement
officer. Chief J.D. Hayes was second, and officer Guy Lumsden was third.

Hair Stylist
Chanel Caughey of Styling in Steamboat received the most votes for the city’s best hair stylist. The runner-up was Sid Lewis of Hasami Salon. Jane Buzan was third.

Insurance Agent
Debbie Aragon of State Farm was voted the city’s best insurance agent. Jerry Dunn, also of State Farm, was second.

Local Author/Writer
Mary Calhoun was voted the best local author. Dwight Williams was second place, while Diane White-Crane was third.

Massage Therapist
Locals tapped Doug Forney as the best person to get a massage from. Stella Globe won second, while Betsy Rapp was third.

Mechanic
Al Tuck of Elk Mountain Automotive and Bob Logan of Bob’s Conoco tied for first place as best mechanic. Dennis Re was third.

Nurse
Steamboat residents voted Kathy Curcio the best nurse in the city. Dot Haberlan was second.

Knee Surgeon
Eric Verploeg got the most votes from residents voting on the city’s best knee surgeon. Brian Bomberg was second, and Michael Sisk was third.

Photographer
Patti Yung was voted the city’s the best photographer. Ken Proper of Proper Exposure was second and Jim Steinberg was third.

Plumber
Bud Baker was chosen as the best plumber in town. Ken Roche was second place, and Ray Banning third.

Radio Personality
D.K. Landers of KFMU was chosen as the best radio personality in town. Brian Harvey of KFMU was the runner-up, and Sam Scholl of KFMU was third.

Realtor
Pam Vanatta of Prudential Trimontane was voted the best Realtor in Steamboat, while Karen Beauvais was second, while Roy Wright and Cameron Boyd tied for third.

Storyteller
Readers picked Maribeth Cate as the city’s best storyteller. Chris Morgan and Cookie Lockhart tied for second.

Sunday Sermon Preacher
The best Sunday Sermon is given by Rob Ryg of Euzoa Bible Church. Tim Selby of United Methodist Church was second and David Henderson of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church was third.

Teacher
Tracey Bye was voted the best teacher in the city. Nancy Spillane of Lowell Whiteman School was second. Lucianne Myhre of Steamboat Springs High School was third.

Travel Agent
Julie Rabbitt , of Steamboat Reservations and Travel, was voted the best travel agent. Jean Fritz was second place, and Nancy Barnes third.
