STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — The 2017 Steamboat Springs Parade of Homes, presented by Colorado Group Realty, took place Aug. 12, providing an opportunity to visit six stunning properties located in five different Steamboat neighborhoods.

After the tour, parade-goers voted for their favorite home. The Strawberry Park home of Brad and Ronda Fox was voted the 2017 honor of Steamboat Springs Home of the Year.

“Brad and Ronda requested a design that allowed for easy living as a couple, with quiet, private quarters for their two grown children. They wanted a tasteful, comfortable home of a reasonable size that fit the site and their way of life,” said Joe Robbins, architect with Joe Patrick Robbins & Associates. “I am proud that we were able to create an innovative house that relates so well to the sun, the views and the environment.”

The Parade of Homes saw more than 500 parade-goers. Participants were able to experience a slice of mountain living not usually seen by the public, and the different residences represented a variety of styles exhibited in mountain homebuilding.

SSIR AGENTS RANKED AMONG BEST IN U.S.

In partnership with Zillow and Trulia and sponsored by Zillow Group, REAL Trends recently released its 2017 ranking report of America’s most productive real estate agents, placing Steamboat Sotheby’s International Realty among the best in the U.S.

REAL Trends America’s Best Real Estate Agents ranks more than 12,600 residential real estate professionals based on their performance in calendar year 2016.

In the “Individuals by Sides” category, Cheryl Foote was ranked 17th in Colorado, and Cam Boyd was ranked 33rd, taking the top two ranking positions for Steamboat Springs brokers. In the “Individuals by Volume” category, Steamboat Sotheby’s International Realty was the only Steamboat Springs firm represented. The seven associates in Steamboat ranked among the top in the state include Cam Boyd, Pam Vanatta, Cheryl Foote, Ren Martyn, Charlie Dresen, Colleen DeJong and Lisa Olson.

“This group represents less than 1 percent of all real estate practitioners in the United States,” according to Steve Murray, publisher of the report and president of REAL Trends.

To qualify for inclusion, an individual agent must have closed at least 50 transaction sides or $20 million in sales volume in 2016. The individuals ranked in America’s Best Real Estate Agents had an average of 73 transaction sides and an average sales volume of almost $37 million.

Colorado Group raises $11,000 for STARS

Colorado Group Realty presented Steamboat Adaptive Recreational Sports with an $11,000 check following the 11th annual Parade of Homes. The funds were derived from ticket sales and sponsorships.

Kelly McElfish, volunteer and events director for STARS, was excited to have STARS be a part of the Colorado Group Realty Parade of Homes for the second year.

“This event allowed us to showcase our programs and the new STARS Ranch to potential donors in Routt County and beyond,” McElfish said. “The funds will go to provide scholarships to locals and help purchase winter adaptive equipment.”

“Colorado Group Realty was honored to work with STARS; it’s such a fun event for people to tour distinctive homes, while supporting such a worthy cause,” Steve Goldman, CEO of Colorado Group Realty said. “This was by far our best Parade of Homes yet.”

Colorado Group Realty has already begun planning for the 2018 Parade of Homes and is accepting applications for potential homes, as well as sponsors. Those interested are asked to e-mail Kara Larrabee, director of marketing, at karalarrabee@mybrokers.com.
