Steamboat girls Nordic team takes 3rd at Eldora, boys 8th

— Once again, the Steamboat Springs High School girls Nordic ski team performed among the top of the pack at Eldora.

Catherine Brodie, Natalie Bohlmann, Eliza Leeson and Larkspur Skov all placed in the top 20 on what ended up being around a 6-kilometer flat and fast course, Sailors coach Harry Niedl said. Brodie led the way, placing seventh in a time of 25:49. Bohlmann was next in 13th, Leeson took 15th and Skov placed 20th.

Lindsey Adler was 21st, Mariah Hoots was 29th, McKenzie Millard — a skimiester — was 46th and Lauren Requist was 66th.

Niedl said Millard took a nasty spill during her Alpine race the same day and suffered large leg bruises to show for it.

The Steamboat boys jumped up one place as a team from where they finished at Snow Mountain Ranch, taking eighth place as a team at Eldora.

Sailors Ben Lingle and Peter Myller have each punched their bids to the state championship next month. They finished just two places apart from each other during the weekend, Myller in 34th and Lingle in 36th.
