Steamboat briefs: Youths donate more than 600 food items to program

Bud Werner Memorial Library has announced that 100 children and teens donated more than 600 food items during its Food for Fines Program in December. The youths were allowed to have late fees waived in exchange for donations to the LIFT-UP of Routt County Food Bank.

Hot springs offers swim training for children

Old Town Hot Springs offers swim cross-training for children Tuesdays and/or Thursdays in January. Students will participate in lap swimming, water aerobics, synchronized swimming and aquatic games. The cost is $50 per day or $90 for two days for members, or $65 per day or $120 for two days for nonmembers. Register at the front desk.

History museum looking for front desk volunteers

The Tread of Pioneers Museum is seeking volunteers. The Steamboat Springs museum needs front desk volunteers to work three-hour shifts. Duties include greeting visitors, answering phones, and collecting admissions and gift shop sales. Friday and Saturday afternoon shifts especially are needed. The museum also needs help with upcoming special events and is seeking school tour guides.
