Steamboat briefs: VNA offers free screenings for American Heart Month

Steamboat Springs — February is American Heart Month, and you can show your support Friday by wearing red. Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association will offer free cardiovascular screenings from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at 940 Central Park Drive, Suite 101. Group seeks singers, particularly sopranos
Yampa Valley Singers has begun its Colorado Mountain College spring semester with rehearsals at 6 p.m. Tuesdays at the Steamboat Springs Middle School band room. The group consists of 40 singers but would welcome other singers — especially soprano singers. The group's performance of Schubert Mass in G is scheduled for April 14. Teeth-whitening service to benefit American Red Cross
South Routt Dental Hygiene in Oak Creek is offering in-office, one-hour whitening in February partly to support disaster relief through the American Red Cross of Northern Colorado. Through the project, Brighter Futures for Brighter Smiles, hygienist Angel Henry will donate half the cost of the $600 procedure to the Red Cross. Girls to Women organizers seeking event volunteers
Organizers of the 13th annual Girls to Women event are welcoming volunteers. The daylong conference serves all eighth-grade girls at Routt County schools and beyond.
