Steamboat Briefs: VNA asking parents to get children immunized

The Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association encourages parents to take a look at school immunization requirements and recommendations. Some vaccines are required for adolescents, including Meningococcal vaccine for most college freshmen and Tdap for students entering sixth through 12th grade. Recommended vaccines include Hepatitis A and HPV. Students entering kindergarten are required to receive DTaP, Polio, MMR and Varicella (chicken pox).

Additional immunizations might be required if your child is not up to date. The VNA provides immunizations for children at prices ranging from free to $14. For more information, call 824-8233 in Craig or 879-1632 in Steamboat.
