Steamboat Briefs: Steamboat Today hosting Coffee and a Newspaper

The Steamboat Pilot & Today will be hosting its monthly Coffee and a Newspaper from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Wednesday.

New Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association CEO Jim Clark and new Chamber President Randy Rudasics will be speaking about the Chamber and its goals for the new year.

The event is held at the newspaper office, 1901 Curve Plaza, and coffee and pastries will be provided. Members of the newspaper staff — including Publisher Suzanne Schlicht and Editor Lisa Schlichtman — also will be on hand to answer questions.

Hayden Museum seeking people for its Holiday Stroll

The Hayden Museum is looking for participants for the annual Hayden Holiday Stroll, which will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday. The event features open houses for businesses, and booth space is available for crafters. McKnight's celebrates day of giving at 5 p.m. Tuesday

Join in celebrating the spirit of giving during Colorado Gives Day on Tuesday with a Yampa Valley Gives Party at 5 p.m. at McKnight's Irish Pub & Loft.

There will be drink specials, live music and the Gives Day Games with $3,500 in games prizes awarded to nonprofits. Come out and help your favorite nonprofits win a share of the prizes.

Spring registration is now open at CMC in Steamboat

Registration for Colorado Mountain College's spring semester is underway. Most classes begin the week of Jan. 12, and others begin later in the semester.

The college sends each household in the Steamboat Springs area a course schedule in the mail for both credit and continuing education (noncredit) classes, including online courses.

New students and those who haven't taken a class during the past 12 months need to first apply to Colorado Mountain College online or in person if they want to take a credit class.

Students who have taken a credit class within the past 12 months and students only interested in noncredit classes may register for classes in person, online, or by phone, fax or email.

Hayden School District superintendent Dec. 12

Meet with Hayden School District Superintendent Trudy Vader at 11 a.m. Dec. 12 at the Hayden Public Library. 

The discussion will be about future programs for the school, testing, safety and more. All interested in the Hayden schools are welcome to attend.

The Solandt Memorial Hospital aims to continually pay tribute to the memory of pioneer physician John Solandt by maintaining, preserving and using the community building in Hayden for health and well-being services that provide for the needs of the community.
