Steamboat Briefs: Steamboat Springs School Board to consider budget
January 11, 2010
The Steamboat Springs School Board will decide whether to approve the 2009-10 budget, with a $22 million general fund, when it meets tonight.
The Steamboat Springs School District is required by state law to submit an approved budget by Jan. 31. Also tonight, School Board members will decide whether to approve a new five-year contract with North Routt Community Charter School. The charter school receives its state funding through the district.
Director Colleen Poole also will update the School Board on the charter school's progress to raise money for the construction of a $4.8 million facility.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. at Centennial Hall, 124 10th St. Action items, which include approval of the budget, are scheduled to start at 6:12 p.m. The public will have a chance to comment at 7 p.m.
