Center for Visual Arts taking local portfolio applications
The Steamboat Springs Center for Visual Arts is accepting portfolio applications for local artists who are interested in becoming exhibiting members. The nonprofit organization is dedicated to supporting the Steamboat Springs local emerging artist community. VNA reminding parents about infant vaccinations
As part of National Infant Immunization Week, the Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association is reminding parents that one of the best ways to protect children is to make sure they have all of their vaccinations. Horizons provides free screenings for children
Horizons Specialized Services provides free screenings for children. If you're a parent and are concerned about your child's development, call Kathy Northcutt at 970-871-8558. The screenings can answer questions such as "Should he be walking by now?" "How many words should she be saying?" and "Is her hearing and vision what it should be?"

Kiwanis Club in search of new members to join
Steamboat Springs' Kiwanis Club is looking for new members who would be interested in providing service to the community as well as attending weekly meetings on Tuesdays at the Steamboat Springs Community Center. Beginner tennis camps to be offered May 18 and 19
Beginner tennis camps for juniors will be offered May 18 and 19 at the Tennis Center at Steamboat Springs. Classes for children ages 6 to 10 are from noon to 1 p.m., and classes for youths ages 11 to 18 are from 1 to 2 p.m. Register by calling 970-879-8400.
LiveWell program to help families with healthy eating
LiveWell Northwest Colorado is helping families be healthy by working to improve eating habits and to be more physically active through the "Let's Go! 5-2-1-0" program. The program sets the goal each day of eating five or more fruits and vegetables, watching two or fewer hours of TV, getting an hour or more of physical activity and drinking zero sugary drinks.
