League of Women Voters announces candidate forum

— The Routt County League of Women Voters 2008 Candidates’ Night Public Forum is at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Steamboat Springs Community Center, 1605 Lincoln Ave. All are welcome to the free event, moderated by Mark Fisher, which features candidates or candidate representatives for races including U.S. Senate, U.S. Representative, state Senate, state Representative, state Board of Education and district attorney.

Parks recommendations on the Web on Monday

Draft recommendations for the city’s master plan for Steamboat Springs parks, recreation programs and facilities will be available Monday on the Web at http://steamboatsprings.net/departments/parks_recreation. Community residents, business owners, sports groups and any interested parties are welcome to review and comment on the documents. The final Parks and Recreation Master Plan will be presented to the city’s Parks and Recreation Commission at an upcoming meeting. Call 879-4300.
