Steamboat Briefs for Nov. 3

Voters who have received mail-in ballots can avoid the 59-cent postage fee by dropping off their completed ballots at the Clerk and Recorder’s Office, the Election Office, the Clark Store, and the town clerk offices in Oak Creek, Hayden and Yampa. Completed mail-in ballots must be dropped off today at all locations other than the Election Office, which will accept mail-in ballots through 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Voters who applied for a mail-in ballot but would rather cast their ballot at the polls on Tuesday will be required to vote by provisional ballot. Many election officials discourage voting by provisional ballot.

For more information, call the Clerk and Recorder’s Office at 870-5558.
