The northwest Colorado District extends from Breckenridge north to Wyoming and west to Utah. Tracy will be at Coal Ridge High School today, speaking to delegates at Garfield County’s Democratic Assembly.

She will travel to GranbyTuesday, March 15 to meet with Grand County Democrats at Middle Park High School. The rest of March will see her in Rangely on Sunday, March 20 for Rio Blanco’s assembly, Summit County on Wednesday, March 23, and both Jackson and Routt counties on Saturday, March 26.

“It will be great to reconnect with voters all over Senate District 8,” Tracy said in a news release. “Our senate district is one of the most beautiful areas of Colorado and is filled with a wonderful, diverse electorate dedicated to making their communities stronger and their families successful.”

Tracy will attend six of the seven county assemblies.

“I’ll be talking about some of the issues critical to our part of the state — water, transportation, agriculture, our rural economy and the values that are the backbone of rural Colorado,” Tracy said in the release.

STEM summer program comes to Strawberry Park

Camp Invention, the nation’s premier summer enrichment day camp program, is coming to Strawberry Park Elementary the week of June 13.

For students entering first through sixth grade, Camp Invention is a weeklong adventure that offers hands-on problem solving using science, technology, engineering and mathematics, or STEM.

Camp Invention provides an opportunity for inventive young minds to exercise their creativity and use their imagination in ways they don’t normally get to in the classroom. Program participants do not realize they are learning and developing new skills as they build prototypes, take things apart and explore different types of technology.

“We are thrilled to offer Camp Invention to our students for the fourth year,” said Alice Opperman, director of curriculum for Emerson Public Schools, in a news release. “The hands-on curriculum helps to further insert curiosity into a child’s everyday lifestyle. As the need for skilled STEM professionals increases, we believe we are setting our students up for success by offering programs like Camp Invention.”

For more information on camp programming, visit campinvention.org/2016-program.

Local programs are facilitated and taught by educators who reside and teach in the community. Camp Invention serves more than 94,000 students every year through nearly 1,400 camps across the nation.
