Steamboat briefs: Construction underway on Routt County Road 14
July 19, 2015
Construction on Routt County Road 14 is scheduled to continue through Aug. 31. The road will be completely closed from Hibbert Lane to Henderson Park Monday through Aug. 1. Motorists are encouraged to use Colorado Highway 131 as a detour route during the construction.
Steamboat Art Museum to host three-day workshop
The Steamboat Art Museum will be holding a workshop taught by our exhibiting artist, John Fawcett, at 9 p.m. July 28 through 30. The cost is $450. In this three-day workshop, we will be covering both painting techniques in oil and watercolor, as well discussing composition, values, edges and color theory. Participants will be painting live horses at a ranch in North Routt and discussing anatomy and easy-to-use measurements of the horse to improve their horse painting, as well as principles that can be applied to other areas of art. A syllabus will be given to each student to reiterate the workshop discussions for future reference. Demonstrations and one-on-one attention will be given to each student. The class is limited to 12 people. Call the Steamboat Art Museum at 970-870-1755 to register and for additional information.
