Steamboat briefs: Coat drive Saturday at Natural Grocers

Colorado Group Realty and Young Professionals Network will collect lightly worn coats in a coat drive Saturday benefitting LiftUp of Routt County. Volunteers will be in front of Natural Grocers from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Donated coats will be distributed to those in need in Routt County during LiftUp's upcoming coat distribution.

This year's Coat Drive goal is to receive 500 lightly worn coats. There is a high demand for children's coats in all sizes. In addition, donations of winter hats, gloves and snow pants will be accepted. Company branded apparel cannot be accepted, nor can torn items, rips, stains or dysfunctional zippers. Donors can also donate cash or checks to LiftUp at the event.

"The Coat Drive is exactly the type of event the Colorado Group Realty Charitable Foundation seeks to lead," said Steve Goldman, CEO of Colorado Group Realty, in a news release. "Helping those less fortunate in the community is something we strive to do every day. We're excited to partner with YPN and LiftUp again on this wonderful event."

Coats will be distributed at LiftUp from 1 to 5 p.m. Oct. 17 to 18 and 20 to 21 and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 19.
