Steamboat briefs: Blood drive set for Thursday at YVMC

— A Steamboat Springs Com­mun­­ity Blood Drive, sponsored by the YVMC Auxiliary, is from 12:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Yampa Valley Medical Center. Blood donations typically drop off during winter but the need remains the same, according to a news release. Walk-ins are welcome after 2:30 p.m. as space permits. Eat a full meal an hour before, and drink plenty of water before donating. The contact number the day of the drive is 846-9184.

‘Free agent’ basketball players invited to team

The Steamboat Springs Parks, Open Space and Recreational Services Department has space available on its free agent basketball team in the Adult Basketball League. The league plays Sunday evenings at Steamboat Springs High School. If you are interested in joining the league, call the department at 879-4300.
