Steamboat briefs: Arts Council plans middle school musical for May

Steamboat Springs — The Steamboat Springs Arts Council is planning a middle school musical. Auditions will be from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday in the Steamboat Springs Middle School choir room. All middle school students who want to perform must come prepared with a 30-second or one-minute song. Students can sing a cappella or with a CD accompaniment.
Those interested in a nonsinging role or helping with tech duties should pick up a form in the middle school office. Those are due by Friday. Call Paula Salky at 819-2170 or 870-9333 with questions. The performance is tentatively scheduled for May 19 and 20.
4-H fiber camp seeking volunteers to teach skills
The Routt County Extension office is looking for help from people who sew, knit or work with felt. The office is looking for volunteers to teach their skills during the 4-H Fiber Arts Camp on Feb. 16 and 17.
