Steamboat Briefs: Aging Well plans diabetes class held in Oak Creek

Aging Well, a program of the Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association, is holding a new class in Oak Creek called Healthier Living Colorado: Diabetes.
The class is for anyone with diabetes, their loved ones and anyone interested in preventing diabetes through diet, exercise, healthy habits and positive goal settings. The class is free and will run for six weeks starting Feb. 10. The class meets from 12:30 to 3 p.m. Wednesdays at the Oak Creek Community Center. To participate, call Aging Well at 871-7676.
New hours in effect at South Routt libraries
Libraries in Oak Creek and Yampa have new hours, including some evening hours.
■ The Oak Creek Public Library will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays, 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. Story-time for preschool children is from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays.
■ The Yampa Public Library will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays, 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. Story-time for preschool children is from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesdays.
Pink scarf sales benefit breast cancer project
Hand-knit pink scarves are for sale at Epilogue Book Co. to benefit the Yampa Valley Breast Cancer Awareness Project.
