Steamboat briefs: 1st Hayden Holiday Stroll to take place at 2 p.m. Saturday

The Hayden Museum and Wild Goose Coffee and Granary will host the first Hayden Holiday Stroll from 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday.
The event will feature horse-drawn wagon rides around town with stops at the museum, downtown and at the Granary. The museum, which will be decorated for the holidays, will host a book signing with Caryn and Peter Boddie, authors of "Lost Ski Areas."
The Granary and Axial Arts will be hosting crafters and vendors and chestnuts will be roasted over an open fire. There will be the opportunity for children to visit with Santa, and Hayden Congregational Church will offer crafts for kids. Downtown businesses and restaurants will be offering discounts for holiday shoppers. The event is free and open the public.
Moonlight Snowshoe Tour to be hosted by Yampatika
Yampatika will host its first Moonlight Snowshoe Tour of the winter season from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday. The tour explores Emerald Mountain on snowshoes under the full moon.
The cost, which includes snowshoes, is $20 per participant, and ages 12 and older are welcome. Registration is required; call 970-871-9151.
Veterans Health Care System offering flu shots
Flu shot vaccines are available and the Flu Shot Clinic will re-open Monday at the Grand Junction Veterans Health Care System. The clinic for veterans is open from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
