Soroco boys roll by West Grand

— If there’s been a better week of Soroco High School basketball, it was a long, long time ago.

On Saturday, the girls team won its third big game in a row and took a big step toward locking up a league title with that thrilling win.

The boys team managed a fitting finale, capping an incredible week of their own by beating West Grand, 59-53.

The win moves the Rams into second place in the division, tied with West Grand, the team they beat Saturday, and just behind Vail Christian, the team they beat Friday.

“This was huge," coach Shawn Hayes said. "This shows how far the boys have come, the buy-in we've had and all the changes we've tried to make as far as being more physical and better conditioned. It's all a credit to the boys and how far they've come as a team."

Soroco lost playing at West Grand, 53-46, earlier in January.
