Don’t forget, it is the time of year to start thinking about your spring planting – the RCCD is selling seedling trees and shrubs for your farm or ranch. These trees are meant for conservation purposes such as windbreaks, reforestation, creating or improving wildlife habitat, soil stabilization, species diversity and other projects, but not for ornamental or resale purposes. Call or stop by for more information and an application. We will sell these plants until April 11, 2008. Delivery of these plants will be in the first part of May 2008.

The RCCD 2008 budget will be ready for public review from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at our office.

The RCCD has a new Board member. Mike Hogue has stepped down from the Board after 22 years! Mike has helped push RCCD into the future with ideas and concepts that have improved RCCD’s ability to provide services to landowners in Routt and surrounding counties. We will miss him and hope he continues to play a part in RCCD’s future. Karin Utterback-Normann has graciously accepted the vacated position. If you see her around town, please help us welcome her to our board. Our new board is as follows: Jim Rossi is our president, Terry Wattles is our vice president, Karin Utterback-Normann is our secretary/treasurer, Lou DeQuine and Heather Stirling are supervisors. If you are interested in being a part of RCCD please come to any one of our meetings or events and say “hi.” All of our meetings are open to the public and usually are held on the first Thursday of every month at our office in the Pine Grove Building. Call ahead for verification of place and time. We would love to see new faces!

Happy Holidays.
