Sailors volleyball sweeps Rifle for conference win

The Steamboat Springs High School volleyball team swept Rifle on Saturday in a conference match in Rifle.

The Sailors defeated Rifle 25-5, 25-13 and 25 to 12, improving their record to 6-9 overall and 2-3 in conference play.

Next up for the Sailors is a home conference match against Summit (4-7, 2-3) at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 6.



Soroco volleyball struggles through weekend

The Soroco High School volleyball team had a rough weekend, taking a conference loss to Rangely in four sets Sept. 30, followed by a conference loss to Meeker in four Oct. 1.

Scores for the Rangely match were 22-25, 17-25, 25-22 and 13-25.



In the Oct. 1 match against Meeker, Soroco lost 22-25, 17-25, 25-22 and 13-25.

The Rams (6-8, 3-4) are off until Oct. 8, when the travel to DeBeque for a non-conference match at 1 p.m. Oct. 8.
