Soroco Rams football rolls over Rangely Friday night
September 16, 2017
The Soroco High School football team kicked off its league schedule with a win Friday as it battled through a rain delay and wet conditions to beat Rangely in Oak Creek 34-12.
Now the Rams, 3-1 this season, will need to do it again.
The game was the first of two back-to-back games the Rams and the Panthers will play against each other. If the second goes anything like the first, it'll be good news for Soroco.
Jace Logan led Soroco's offense as he's done all year, this week gobbling up 244 yards and scoring three touchdowns. Quarterback Truman Anarella add 53 more yards on just four carries and also scored a touchdown. The Rams kept it almost entirely on the ground, Anarella completing just one pass and for only five yards.
Another week of big stats has Logan at the top of 8-man football ranks. He has 1,053 yards on the season, averaging 12.2 yards per carry with 16 touchdowns. That gives him the most yards in the state in 8 man, the most touchdowns and the most yards per carry for anyone with more than 25 carries.
Soroco does have a week off before it packs off to Rangely for the back end of the series. The Panthers, meanwhile, will sandwich a game against Sedgwick County between its games against Soroco.
