Sarah Ena Peed

Sarah Ena McEntee Peed passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2017, in Rifle, Colorado, at the age of 94. Ena was born June 7, 1922, in Stockville, Nebraska to Francis Emmett and Sarah Ellen Alexander McEntee. She was the youngest of six children. Ena moved to Craig with her Mother and stepfather Raymond Kisling when she was 16, and has been a lifelong resident of Craig. She married Lyle. R Peed on February 24, 1942 and they had three sons; Jackie Lyle, Douglas Dean and Kendall Curtis Peed. Ena worked at the movie theater as a young woman, also working at the school lunch program, as housekeeper at local motels, she and her sister painted and wallpapered area homes. She will be remembered as a homemaker and the glue that kept that family together. Ena was a member of the VFW and the DOES. She is survived by her sons; Jack (Bobbi) Peed, Kendal (Cherly) Peed, Grandchildren; Douglas (Becky) Peed, Tadd (Jenny) Peed, Kendra (Chris) Varner and Jeremy Peed. Step Grandchildren; Dorri Thompson, Kristi Barnes, Larri (Jeff) Winslow, Chad Thompson. Great-grandchildren; Zachary & Quentyn Peed, Erin and Caitlyn Peed, Zane, Kinsey and Gracie Varner and Chase Peed. Step Great Grandchildren, Teri Barnes, Jacque Barnes (Dustin) O'Mara, Lee and Curtis Thompson, Greg (Kyrsti) Winslow, Ben (Carli) Winslow. Great¬ Great-grandson, Jack Eugene O'Mara. Numerous Nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, step¬father Raymond Kisling, husband Lyle R. Peed, son Little Dougie, sisters, Bertha Harris, Mary Seals, Martha McEntee, Agnes Eads, Brother John McEntee and numerous nieces and nephews. Grandma Ena will be sadly missed by all her family and friends. A memorial services will be held at a later date.
