Norman Charles Lopez

Norman Charles Lopez passed away in his home Aug. 24th in Craig, CO. of natural causes. He was 77 years old. Services were held Sept. 2, 2016 at Saint Michael's Catholic Church in Craig, CO. He was born in Penasco, New Mexico Aug. 26, 1939 to Nick and Matilda Lopez who both preceded him in death. He graduated from Moffat County High School and was a conference wrestling champion. Norman married Edna Jo Baggett and had 2 children, Rick Lopez and Theresa Kline. All 3 preceded him in death. Also preceded in death: 5 sisters, Virginia Mascarenas, Mary Valdez, Pemmie Wilson, Dora Mundon, Lugi Arellano and 3 brothers, Ernest, Nick and Roland Lopez.
He worked for Safeway where he retired and belonged to Saint Michael Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. He loved fishing, hunting and traveling. Loved life so much. No one was a stranger. He had many hobbies, wood working, etc. He loved taking care of his family and handing out Tootsie Rolls for Knights of Columbus. He loved his Broncos, taking his dog Daisey out for a walk at Loudy-Simpson Park. He still has lots of relatives that love him. He helped out lots of people in need. Survivors include 1 grandson, Philip Nachbar (New York), 1 granddaughter, Trysta Majors (Evergreen, CO), 1 adopted son, James Kline (Craig, CO), 2 brothers, Jerry Lopez (Arvada West, CO) and Nick Lopez (Palisade, CO). In closing, thank you so much for all the help, it was all appreciated, and thank you all for coming.
He had lots of sorrows and pain but never let it show, because he knew and believed in God and Jesus Christ and he knew, He was coming for him. Now he is with him in peace and has no more pain. May God bless everyone; Amen.
