Mrs Beverly “Lorraine” Steele daughter of C.C. Wylie and May Philips Wylie was born on January 20, 1929 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. In the 1930’s her family moved to the homestead in Craig, Co. There she attended the Moffat County public schools. Later attending a trade school in Denver, Co.
She was united in holy matrimony to Cecil “Dean” Steele on January 14, 1951 in Grady, Arkansas.The couple moved back to Colorado in the summer of 1951.This union was blessed with three beautiful children. Dean preceded her in death on September 16, 2004.
Lorraine worked as a bookkeeper for many years. In her free time she enjoyed outdoor activities with her husband and family such as snowmobiling, camping, and fishing. She took part in the bowling leagues in Craig, Co. and found herself caught up in the early days of the jazzercise craze. She and and Dean enjoyed dancing and dining out. In the evenings and quiet afternoons she could be found working on a crossword puzzle or crocheting an afghan. An avid reader she enjoyed romance,westerns and crime novels. She and her husband often traveled to visit family and friends. In 1989 The couple retired to Bullhead City Az. She departed this life on July 7, 2016 at the Western Arizona Regional Medical Center in Bullhead City, Az. She was preceded in death by her brother H.H. Wylie.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Lynda(L.O.)Gleason of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. Gary(Paula) Steele of Weatherford, Texas and Peggy Erickson of Bullhead City Az, grandchildren: Deana(John) Kutzschebauch of Grand Junction, Co. Muffy Gleason of Prescott, Az. Krystal(Monty) Shipp of McKinney, Tx. Ashley(Coty) Hopson of Hudson,Tx. Wynter(Richard) Schmidt of Bagdad, Az. Steele Erickson of Bullhead City, Az. and fifteen great-grandchildren.
At Lorraine’s request there were no services. A private remembrance will be held at a later date.
