James Steve Simos

Born September 14, 1938 at home in Craig, Colorado, James Steve Simos was the first son and second child to Georgia Vlahos Simos and Steve James Simos. He attended Colorado State University and then Mesa State College. He married Mary Soter and joined her family in Salt Lake City, Utah where they grew Soter's Home Furniture and a large family of boys. He returned to Craig in 1988 where he met Pamela Pleasant Foster and bought Cashway Distributor's which he transformed into a business that defined and supported Northwestern Colorado. Jimmy supported the Craig community in many ways including as President of the Saint John's Orthodox Greek Counsel, as a board member of Kiwanis club, as a Member and President of the Yampa Valley Antique Power Club, as a three term Board Member for Yampa Valley Electric Association and two Years as Chairman of the Yampa Valley Electric Association. He retired from Cashway in 2006 and started James S. Simos tractor sales. He is survived by his life partner, Pamela Pleasant Foster of Craig, CO, and her two daughters, Sasha and Ashley Foster, of Fort Collins, CO; son Steve Simos, wife Elaina, grandsons Nicholas and Samuel of Salt Lake City, UT; son Sam Simos, wife Peggy, granddaughters Alexa and Nicole of Naperville, IL; son Gregory Simos, wife Beth, and grandchild Eva Maria of Richmond, VA; and son James Simos, wife Anna Maria, and granddaughter Marina of Pleasanton, CA; sister Connie Jouflas, nephew Peter Jouflas, niece Denice Lipp, nephew Steve Jouflas (of Glenwood, CO), niece Georganna Shannahan of Grand Junction, CO; brother Steve Raftopoulos, wife Tony Raftopoulos, niece Jorgiea (of Grand Junction, CO), nephews Andrew and Zacharias of Craig, CO; brother John Raftopoulos, nephew George, niece Mari Katherine (of San Diego, CA), nephew Angelo of Craig, CO.
