Oak Street construction proceeding on schedule
June 10, 2017
Construction continues on the downtown refurbishment project in Oak Creek.
The paving of Phase One is scheduled for Monday, June 19. Sidewalks within that area will be completed shortly thereafter, which may mean continued intermittent use of the Willow Bend Road detour during the day for a while longer. Following the completion of paving, Moffat Avenue and Nancy Crawford Boulevard will become the primary detour route, with Main Street between Moffat Avenue and Sharp Street closed 24-hour-per-day, seven-days-per-week.
The next leg of water main will come online early next week, meaning there may be brief interruptions of water service. Notice will be posted at all service locations prior to these interruptions.
Parking is not permitted anywhere along Nancy Crawford Boulevard. Beginning with the 24/7 closure of Main Street, violators of these parking restrictions will be receiving tickets instead of warnings. The lot behind the Circle R Building has been graded and graveled for parking, and motorists are urged to make use of this area. Motorists are also asked to be considerate of the limited parking for Main Street businesses.
