Carpenter’s Ball to benefit Habitat for Humanity

The inaugural Carpenter’s Ball to benefit Routt County Habitat for Humanity is at 6:30 p.m. May 13 at the Steamboat Grand Resort Hotel and Conference Center. Tickets are $50. Call 879-0882, ext. 209.

Adult CPR and First Aid class to be held May 8



Yampa Valley Medical Center is holding a Heartsaver Adult CPR and Fist Aid class for nonclinical people from 5 to 10 p.m. May 8. Call 871-2500 to sign up. The class will be held at the Visiting Nurse Association.

Newspaper looking for Editorial Board members



The Steamboat Pilot & Today is accepting letters of interest from those who wish to serve as community representatives on the newspaper’s Editorial Board from May 1 to Aug. 31.

The Editorial Board includes two community representatives and five members of the newspaper staff. Newspaper staff members on the board include WorldWest General Manager Suzanne Schlicht, Publisher Bryna Larsen, editor Scott Stanford, city editor Brent Boyer and reporter Tom Ross. The Editorial Board formulates the Our View opinions expressed on the ViewPoints page of the newspaper.

Readers interested in serving on the Editorial Board should send a letter of 500 words or less expressing their interest in the board to Stanford at sstanford@steamboatpilot.com or at P.O.
