Nan Porter: Cary Kennedy deserves Routt County support
February 27, 2018
I would like to praise Cary Kennedy on her many ideas for Colorado's future.
As a retired teacher, I am very concerned about funding sources for our schools. We are very lucky in Routt County to have the 1/2-cent sales tax for lower classroom size and technology in our schools. However, the state funding isn't keeping up with the growth due to the Tabor Amendment.
Kennedy has worked with both political parties to help solve this problem and is committed to helping all school districts in the state. When Kennedy was state treasurer she saved the state from being decimated during the crash in 2007. Her knowledge of budgets, investing state funds and working with all legislators will help our schools as well as our infrastructure.
Please go to the caucus March 6 to vote for a reasonable, intelligent proven servant of the people in the Great State of Colorado.
Nan (Nancy) Porter
