Man found slumped over steering wheel holding pot pipe: The Record

Police, fire and ambulance calls

2:50 a.m. Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue emergency responders were called to a report of someone who was possibly suffering from an overdose in the 1500 block of Skyview Lane.

8:50 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers were called to a report of someone who lost a driver's license at the ski area.

10:34 a.m. Officers were called to a report of someone trespassing at Christy Sports.

11:07 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a burglary from a restaurant in the 900 block of Lincoln Avenue. The suspect appeared to have forced his way into the business and taken money about 2 a.m. Sunday. Police released a photo of the suspect taken from a surveillance camera. Police had not identified the suspect as of Monday morning.

4:35 p.m. Officers and Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue emergency responders were called to a report of a driver who was unresponsive and slumped over the steering wheel of his car at the upper Knoll parking lot near Steamboat Ski Area. Another man in the parking lot went to check on the driver. After he lightly shook the driver to see if he was sleeping, the driver reportedly let his foot off the brake, causing the car to roll forward into the other man's car. Police arrived and found the unresponsive driver was holding a glass pipe with marijuana in it. Police also found what they suspect was a small glass bottle of cocaine in the center console of the driver's car. The driver was taken to the hospital, and later arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. The driver was also arrested on suspicion of possessing a dangerous weapon after officers found he was in possession of a switchblade knife.

7:05 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a man who allegedly took about $50 in groceries from City Market. The man was cited for shoplifting and arrested on an outstanding warrant.

10:48 p.m. Officers were called to a report of intoxicated men arguing in the 2500 block of Longthong Road. The men were gone when officers arrived.
