Joe Russo: Increase in summer activity in Steamboat is overwhelming
July 10, 2017
I have been a citizen for more than 25 years here, and I can’t understand the overwhelming increase of activity of events that are crammed into this town.
We all appreiciate the commerce that council provides, but this is becoming overwhelming for the service industry and the community itself. Parking and service itself is compromised in the ability to make a good experience for the visitor. It’s not a good time for them.
Can we just get back to the Steamboat that visitors and tourists alike are a customer too. It’s just too much. No visitor is having a “Steamboat” experience.
We can all make this work by spreading out events and communicating through all of us in a diverse way. Let’s keep our tourists and Steamboat community happy. That equals a win for everybody. I don’t want to lose our visitors and have them call us a ” Vail.”
Peace and love,
