Free cardiovascular screenings offered on World Heart Day

Northwest Colorado Health is recognizing World Heart Day by offering drop-in cardiovascular screenings from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29 at Northwest Colorado Health, 940 Central Park Drive, Suite 101. Screenings include blood glucose test, cholesterol panel, blood pressure, body mass index and personalized education to help individuals prevent heart disease. Drop in flu clinic set at Hayden Town Hall



Northwest Colorado Health is holding a drop-in flu clinic from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18 at Hayden Town Hall, 178 West Jefferson Ave. Flu and pneumonia shots will be available for adults and children. Costs vary. Please bring Medicare, Medicaid, CHP+ (Child Health Plan Plus) or other insurance cards. Low-cost options are available to individuals who do not have insurance. Yellow fever vaccine shortage



The yellow fever vaccine, recommended or required for travel to some international destinations, is in short supply. Anyone planning travel to a yellow fever risk area should contact the travel clinic at Northwest Colorado Health to verify the vaccine is available. If possible, travelers should do this at least five weeks prior to departure. For more information, call 970-871-7328. Casey’s Pond hosts community happy hour

Casey’s Pond Distinctive Senior Living hosts a happy hour from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on the last Thursday of each month at Casey’s Pond, 2855 Owl Hoot Trail. Food, wine and beer are available, along with the opportunity to see old friends or meet new ones. Attendees can learn more about life at Casey’s Pond and receive a tour of the community. Variety of support groups meeting this week

• A bereavement support group meets from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at Rollingstone Respite House. The group is open to anyone grieving the loss of a loved one. Call 970-871-7629 prior to attending.

• A domestic violence support group for women meets from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesdays at Advocates Building Peaceful Communities. Call Diane, at 970-879-2034, before attending.

• A Caregiver Cancer Support Group meets from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sundays in the community room at Natural Grocers, 355 Lincoln Ave. For more information, call 970-846-4717.
