Hayden moves graduation back to 4 p.m. Sunday

The time for Hayden High School’s commencement ceremony has been moved back from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 21 to accommodate athletes who are in Denver participating in the Colorado State Track & Field finals, according to Superintendent Phil Kasper. Thursday’s spring snowstorm prompted CHSAA to reschedule the state’s track and field finals, which put the new finals schedule in direct conflict with Hayden’s graduation.

“There is no way to mitigate the multitude of conflicts in everyone’s schedules, however; in an effort to be sensitive of the needs of our community, and recognizing the related connections between multiple family members, I believe a slight delay of our scheduled ceremony would accommodate many of the needs, primarily allowing safe travel times for participants and well wishes to arrive back in Hayden to celebrate the success of these exceptional graduates,” Kasper wrote in a letter to graduates and parents.
