Hayden girls basketball team wins 1st game

Luke Graham

— The Hayden High School girls basketball team picked up its first win of the year Friday, beating Encampment, Wyo., 39-34.

Hayden led for most of the night, but Encampment cut the lead to three late in the fourth quarter before the Tigers rebounded to get the win.

“Just to be able to have a win under their belt and feel good about it — I’m proud of them,” Hayden coach Michelle Wilkie said.

Kara Cozzens and Savannah Williams paced the Tigers with 12 points apiece.

Hayden (1-4) returns to action Saturday at Little Snake River, Wyo.

The two teams play at 2:30 p.m.
