Freestylers finish at top in Vail

— Kiersten Adams and Ryan Dyer led the way for the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club freestyle team through a Rocky Mountain regional freestyle event in Vail on Saturday, each winning the respective moguls competitions.

Adams captured the women's title and was one of three local skiers to crack the top 10.

Dyer, meanwhile, won the men's, leading the way as five Steamboat athletes made the top 10.

"That was a great confidence builder for Ryan," Winter Sports Club freestyle coach Nate Bird said. "He was injured last month in selections, then again in Steamboat a few weeks ago. Then (Kiersten), she was coming off a big knee injury and that was her first win since coming back. It was great for her confidence, too."

Adams finished ahead of second-place Alyssa Lawson, from Winter Park. Alison Crowe was sixth for Steamboat, Alissa Pinkoski was seventh, and Shelby Dyer was 10th.

Luke Kamieniecki finished third on the men's side. Luke Farney was fourth, Bennett Roukema was fifth and Dalton Lee was eighth.
