A 27-year-old Wheat Ridge man died early Wednesday morning in a single-vehicle rollover crash on U.S. Highway 40, 7 miles east of Granby in Grand County.

Colorado State Patrol troopers were dispatched to the rollover at approximately 1:15 a.m. Wednesday. A blue 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Levii Norwood was traveling eastbound on U.S. Highway 40 near milepost 219. Norwood lost control skidded off the left side of the road and rolled multiple times. The Tahoe came to final rest on its driver side.

Norwood was not wearing a seatbelt and was partially ejected during the crash. He was the only occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash is currently under investigation by the Colorado State Patrol. Speed and impairment are suspected as contributing factors in the crash.

Assisting agencies included the Grand County Sheriff’s Office, East Grand Fire, Grand County EMS, CDOT, and Grand County Coroner.

The accident is the third vehicle fatality in Grand County in the last week.

A Denver man was killed Saturday in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 9 north of Kremmling.

On Tuesday afternoon, a 36-year-old Utah man drove off U.S. Highway 40 near Muddy Pass, striking a Colorado Department of Transportation paving roller parked along the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
