Extra buses will run in Steamboat Springs tonight to get revelers home safe

— New Year’s revelers in Steamboat Springs won’t be left out in the cold in the wee hours of Thursday morning thanks to additional bus service from the city.

Steamboat Springs Transit Manager Jonathan Flint said extra buses will be running tonight and Thursday morning on the Night Line, offering people a quick and safe ride home.

The last bus heading from downtown to the mountain area will depart at 2:24 a.m. from Seventh Street and Lincoln Avenue.

The last bus heading from downtown to the western part of the city will depart at 3:23 a.m.

Those heading from the Gondola Transit Center to condominiums at the base area will need to be on the last bus at the Transit Center at 2:40 a.m.

The final bus heading from the Gondola Transit Center to downtown departs at 3:08 a.m.

Steamboat Springs Transit’s Donn Fowler said the late buses will run until everybody who wants to take one gets home.

Riders who want to shorten their waits at the bus stops can use the city’s new GPS tracking map to see where the buses are in real time and plan accordingly.
