Leading up to the holidays there are a wide variety events to attend for families and friends in Steamboat Springs.

— Although most will be out on the slopes enjoying the 31 trails and 168 acres open at the Steamboat Ski Area, following are a few other events to enjoy this weekend.

Holiday Pottery open house

Shoppers can view and purchase locally made pottery Friday and Satuday. The unique work of eight local ceramic artists will be on display. Holiday music, refreshments and hourly drawings for free pottery are included.

Santa arrives in Steamboat Springs

There is a new location for Santa's house this year — between Kali’s Boutique and Bank of the West. Santa will be in his house following the “Light Up the Night Celebration” and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday in December.
