Exploration: Hayden Daze, a summer favorite

See what's going on for the annual Hayden Daze festivities on Friday and Saturday this weekend.

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS – One of Hayden’s favorite summertime events, Hayden Daze, takes place this weekend.

Friday events kick off at 6 p.m. at Dry Creek Park with vendors, a beer garden and entertainment by the Worried Men. Saturday events, which begin with a community breakfast from 7 to 9 a.m. at Mountain Valley Bank, include a disc golf tournament, an extreme obstacle course, a bouncy house and mechanical bull, all at Dry Creek Park.

The annual Hayden Daze Parade begins at 10:30 a.m. Saturday with family entertainment throughout the day featuring local emergency service agencies’ “Touch a Truck” exhibit.

New to the event this year is a home run derby starting at 11 a.m. to support Hayden’s baseball program.

The sixth annual Hayden Daze Cornhole Tournament begins at 12:30 p.m. Saturday with vendor booths and beer garden continuing until 5 p.m. There will also be entertainment featuring musicians Randy Kelley, Gibbs, Willie Samuelson and Pat Waters.
