Deadline to apply for local education fund grants Monday

The deadline to submit applications for Steamboat Springs Education Fund grants is Monday.
Grants are awarded to public schools and nonprofits with school-based programs in Routt County through a competitive grant process managed by the Education Fund Board's Grants Commission and approved by the Education Fund Board.
There are three main categories of grants funded with SSEF funds: School District Grants, Community Grants and Innovation Grants. Eligible school districts include Steamboat, Hayden, South Routt and the Mountain Village Montessori Charter School.
Any community organization that provides programming for public school students in grades K-12 may apply for a Community Grant.
In spring 2017, thanks to sales-tax contributions from the Steamboat Springs community, SSEF awarded grants totaling more than $3.4 million.
Grant applications are available online at steamboateducationfund.org.
