Police, fire and ambulance calls

12:40 a.m. West Routt Fire Protection District firefighters were called to a report of a rollover crash about four miles east of Hayden on U.S. Highway 40. A 22-year-old Rifle woman was driving the car. She was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the car and died from her injuries.

7:36 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers were called to a report of a man yelling and flipping off cars in the 1400 block of South Lincoln Avenue.

12:03 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a driver who possibly left a hotel drunk in the 2300 block of Mount Werner Circle. The driver was contacted, and he was not drunk.

2:39 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a 2-year-old child who was bitten on the lip by a relative's dog.

3:24 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a drunken driver at West Lincoln Park. A city employee contacted someone who had been sleeping in a car. The man sounded drunk and reportedly threw up. The driver drove away, and the city employee followed the driver to the mountain area. Police searched the area, but the driver could not be located.

8:24 p.m. Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue firefighters were called to help a person who possibly overdosed in the 900 block of Pine Grove Circle.

8:38 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a bear at a home in the 2500 block of Liftline Way. A bear reportedly had broken into the home last year. This time, the resident could hear the bear pawing on the back of the house. Police found a screen had been torn off, and footprints were found. The bear could not be located.

10:41 p.m. Steamboat firefighters were called to help with a crash at Colo. Highway 131 and Routt County Road 14F.
