Police, fire and ambulance calls
2:35 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers were called to a report of a bear trying to get into trash bins for 30 minutes in the 500 block of Buena Vista Court. The trash was secured, but one of the bins was destroyed. The bear could not be located.
5 a.m. Officers located a driver police were trying to pull over on Morgan Court. The driver was pretending to be asleep. The driver passed roadside impairment tests.
5 a.m. Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue firefighters were called to help a person with a medical problem at Anglers Drive and South Lincoln Avenue.
7:51 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a transient who was upset that restaurant employees would not watch his things outside the restaurant in the 1800 block of Central Park Drive. The transient was gone when officers arrived.
8:47 a.m. Officers were called to check on the welfare of a man who was on his knees on the side of the road at Elk River Road and Lincoln Avenue. He could not be located.

10:36 a.m. West Routt Fire Protection District firefighters were called to help a sick person in the 38400 block of Routt County Road 53.
12:23 p.m. Officers were called to a report of several local teenagers breaking into a pool in the 1700 block of Medicine Springs Drive.
1:18 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a $2,000 computer taken from a car in the 100 block of Lincoln Avenue.
3:22 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a suspicious incident in the 3300 block of Après Ski Way. A couple returned from out of town and found their son had allowed a shady male and female to stay at their house. The couple’s dresser had been rummaged through.
3:27 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a gym employee who received an email containing threatening remarks aimed at police officers who were going to teach a self-defense class at the gym in the 100 block of Lincoln Avenue.
4:06 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a disturbance in the 2500 block of Cattle Kate Circle. A father and son got into an argument, and the son left.
4:11 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a disturbance in the 200 block of Angler Drive. Some pedestrians were upset because they thought a motorist drove too close to them.
4:14 p.m. Steamboat firefighters were called to help an unconscious person in the 3600 block of Lincoln Avenue.
5:11 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a man, woman and two kids holding a sign asking for gas money.
9:05 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a disturbance in the 2300 block of Ski Time Square Drive. Some children were biking in the area, and people became upset because someone was driving a truck too fast. An argument ensued, and police mediated the situation.
9:50 p.m. A woman who was sharing a hotel room with her boyfriend came to the police department because she just broke up with her boyfriend. Police found her another hotel room.
10:06 p.m. Officers were called to check on a man walking along the road with a dog in the 3600 block of Lincoln Avenue.
10:22 p.m. Steamboat firefighters were called to help a person with a medical problem in the 21400 block of U.S. Highway 40.
11:11 p.m. Steamboat firefighters were called to help a person who fell in the 2500 block of Lincoln Avenue.
