Community education forums set for tonight, Thursday

The newly formed Community Committee for Education is hosting a series of community forums this week and invites community participation. The goal of the committee is to ensure the best education possible for local students.

The first forum is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Steamboat Grand, Burgess Creek Room, and free childcare will be provided.

Subsequent sessions will be held from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. and from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, March 31, also at the Steamboat Grand Burgess Creek Room.

Refreshments will be served at all forums, and free parking is available in the structure opposite the main entrance, between The Grand and the Clock Tower Building.

The purpose of the forums is to inspire a community dialogue about the challenges and desires for the future of education in our schools, and all community members are encouraged to attend.
