Children’s book clubs plan final sessions of year

Sign up is now open for the finals meetings of the year for the Bud Werner Library's Children’s book clubs — It's a Girl Thing and Guys Read — for children in fifth through seventh grades with an adult partner.

These free book discussion groups meet once per month from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays from October through April. Led by a member of the Youth Services staff, the hour of fun includes hands-on activities, lively book discussion, and related media.

Register online or at the Kids' Desk or call 879-0240 x313. Space is limited to 10 kid/adult pairs per meeting. Each pair can pick up their free copy of the book to borrow and share at the Kids’ Desk.

Upcoming sessions include the following.

April 13: Guys Read — "The One and Only Ivan," by Katherine Applegate

April 27: It's A Girl Thing — "Because of Mr. Terupt," by Rob Buyea
