Children in Routt County invited to write letters to Santa

The Steamboat Pilot & Today and Main Street Steamboat are partnering to again collect Dear Santa letters from children during the holiday season. Kids are invited to drop off their letters to Santa at the Santa Hut, located on the front lawn of Bank of the West on Lincoln Avenue, or at the newspaper office, 1901 Curve Plaza. Letters can also be emailed to Editor Lisa Schlichtman at lschlichtman@steamboattoday.com. Letters must be dropped off or emailed by Monday, Dec. 18 for publication in the Sunday, Dec. 24 issue of the newspaper.

Advocates seeks volunteers to provide service on victim crisis line

Advocates Building Peaceful Communities is recruiting volunteers to become victim advocates to provide on-call services for the 24-hour crisis line. Thirty hours of training is provided and will take place in early February based on participant schedules.
Advocates is a nonprofit agency providing free and confidential services to victims of domestic and sexual violence in Routt County. Those who are interested may call Molly or Diane at 970-879-2034 for more information.
