Callie Bradley: 1st DitchFest a success

If you weren't in Decker Park in Oak Creek on Sept. 20, you may very well wish you had been. Locals and out-of-towners alike were entertained by some great music, art, exhibits and games.

We were thrilled at the positive response to the event and the attention it brought to some of South Routt's talent. We think the eclectic nature of the festivities attracted a lot of different people, and we were pleased with the overall family-friendly atmosphere. Next year, we hope to add more games and activities, as well as expand the diverse mix of art and music.

We would like to thank everyone who helped support the event, including our organizers, volunteers, sponsors, musicians, artists, exhibitors and everyone in attendance. A special thanks goes out to Jamin McKee, of the Steamboat Sign Company, for producing all banners, posters and printed materials; Lawrence Jaconetta and the Circle R Gastropub for providing meals for all the band members and volunteers; Drew Moon for organizing the Rat Rod show; Dutch Dolan for running the tattoo exhibition; our sound engineers Lock McShane, Chris Powers and Tracy Burris; our emcee David Moran; our bartenders Dawn Smith and Cynthia Lucio; our photographer Casey Thomas, of 303Visual; our scholarship sponsor, Peabody Energy; our Web designer BittyWebs, as well as Sanctified Fabrications, PowerICE, Butcherknife Brewing Co., the Valley Voice, Bonfiglio Drug, Select Super Market, Crown Prints, Cook Chevrolet, Storm Peak Brewing Co., City Market, Last Call Events & Floral, Mona's Art to Go and Moots Cycles for their sponsorship, donated products and services.

Also, we're looking for spectator photos/videos to put in our gallery at http://www.ditchfest.org/gallery. People can email these with their name, so we can credit them, to info@ditchfestoc.com.

We hope to see all of you and more out for DitchFest next year.
