Magazine: Fuzziwig’s a top new franchise
Steamboat Springs — Entrepreneur Magazine has named Fuzziwig’s Candy Factory as one of the top 10 new franchises in the food category since 2002 and one of the top 50 new franchises started since 2002 in all categories. Colorado-based Fuzziwig’s is a franchisor of theme-oriented animated candy stores designed to look like whimsical candy factories. The chain has two Steamboat Springs locations at 845 Lincoln Ave. and 1860 Ski Time Square Drive. The chain’s 64 stores operate in 23 states and two foreign countries.
Coldwell Banker tops the nationwide charts
Coldwell Banker Silver Oak at 200 Lincoln Ave. was ranked No. 1 out of nearly 2,700 Coldwell Banker offices nationwide in terms of adjusted gross commission income for the month of June. The office was ranked second in that category in the month of May. In terms of total units sold, Coldwell Banker Silver Oak, ranked No. 15 for the month of June.
“This accomplishment can only be achieved with strong and dedicated real estate practices and services,” said Karen Beauvais, an owner of the Silver Oak Office.
Chamber’s next business mixer set for Wednesday
The Steamboat Chamber Resort Association’s next business after-hours mixer is 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Affordable Flooring Warehouse, 2550 Copper Frontage Road. Guests are encouraged to bring nonperishable food to the mixer for a food drive for LIFT-UP Food Bank. The event will have free food and drinks for chamber members and their guests.
Water being sold to agricultural irrigators
Agricultural irrigators in Northwest Colorado have a new source of precious water.
The Colorado River District announced this month that new water supplies stored in the enlarged Elkhead Reservoir are available for agricultural leases at a cost of $25 per acre-foot. An acre-foot is about 326,000 gallons.
